Never used any other electro-magic system, so no comparison data. Hell, electrickery hadn't been invented when I was little - my family lived in an old cabin I built before I was born. I had to make my bikes out of cat-tails and mud when I was a kid - kinda like Colnagos today - and most bikes back then ran on wind power. We had one-half speed derailleurs. and had to share one wheel among three of us.
