having him have waks and a bit of sprint dont you think it is better that not have him see the outside and move spend his energy ?
Hi everyone,
I m glad you are all willing to help and see that we have a thing in common, the love of dog. That is great.
=I would like to clarify somethings . The wheelchair I use in summer was ok speed but with snow difficult motor burns . So what I am seaching for is a way to get my dog out and have him walk, sometimes run progressively but no so much that it would cause hip dysplasia. Running is not hurting them . What is hurting them is running for too long when their growth is not complete.
-Van says it is n, it is easy to overdo it, especially on a bike. They can run fast, but not for a very long time. It is true I will have to be vigilant. And use an alarm timer. Probably with slow acceleration and decelaration coupled with a cue to tell what is coming. Maybe I could stop to give him choice to either go on the trailer or stay on the ground .
- What will happen, if your dog
stops or stumbles behind you while you are moving along ? Nothing will push him from behind since it is open and his harness has a back attach. That is still a
very good question . The dog could fall with a jogger walking him too , beside an attached bike too and in a open trailer too. But in the trailer I would see it less quickly I think .

I would probalbly feel it rapidly though)
. If I add a camera, what part should I be filming? From which perspective. I guess going slow would diminish chances of big injuries.? There is a risk but we have to remember that not walking him is not an option and much riskier for his health and weelbeing so im trying to see the best non ideal solution.
-by the way he does not really like fetch atm im searching for a clicker way to teach him . Since he will become a service dog, playing tug is not adviced since it promotes grrr and barks and possibly agressivity. No lakes near, My choices are limited.
= I also have to say that if I can have myself some mouvement instead of hours of sitting going the bike way would fit me.
I guess my choice is now to select and compare the safety of the two different system: trailer vs gadjet on the side of the bike holding a leach. How do I do that.? Is there already a tread somewhere comparing lets say the top 3 safest gadjet to run the dog beside the bike. I think I ll create one. Do these gadjets have a name?
So far I see
Advantage .
1 that the open close trailer has the advantage of offering the choice to put the pet on the floor while being on dark solid hot asphalt and back on the ground on the grass. Even though I could have him wear boots. But important : with gadjet on the side you cant give a rest to the dog and continue riding.. is true for speed and more distance possible to do with the dog without putting pressure on him.
To be able to do a comparison I would need to know if with the beside the bike gadjet attached leash do the dog have enough rope to allow the dog to charge into the wheel of the bike or the gears of pedaling in the middle?
When a dog tries to go perpendicular, can that have you fall from your bike with the side gadjet?
If you guys could tell me the truth about the dangers of the gadjets beside the bike that would help me to do a informed choice because I have no xp with neither of the 2 systems. Just name the problems, advantage and disadvantage from both system please !
