I don't know if I could walk my bike up that hill now (15% IIRC, live in the PNW now), but I'm getting back into it, so hope to build the strength and stamina up again.
When I lived in the Normal Heights area, I'd prefer to climb the I15 bike path (new), or go up Presidio closer to the coast. Before then I lived in Linda Vista, and I'm in Clairemont/Kearney Mesa now, so I have a lot of history with Linda Vista. Some of the climbs coming out of Mission Valley on either side are a bit formidable.

Sounds like you know the area well!
