You can use a cut-up inner tube for that.
i've popped forks loose from headsets and had water run out onto the floor..rusty black water.. the kind that stains things and stinks... i've also seen freeze splits in frames, water filling handlebars, and crank bearings and hubs rusted solid, unable to turn.
move to a coastal rain forest, then work on the local bikes... you'll see water in bikes. And I'm about to fix another Rusted Headset today.
