There is not a single motor interface for Bosch motor, for Bosch mid drive currently sold by Bosch, there are 3 different interfaces::
- Bosch Active Line, Active Line Plus, Performance Line, Performance Line Sport called Gen 3, 3 points attachment to the ebike frame.
- Bosch Performance Line CX, Performance Line Speed, Cargo Line called Gen 4, 3 points attachment to the ebike frame (different from Gen 3).
- Bosch Performance SX, Performance Sprint, latest Performance Line CX and Performance Line Speed called Gen 5, 2 points attachment to the ebike frame.
The reason is the evolution of these motor that become smaller and with a smaller Q-factor approaching the Q-factor of bikes without mid motor.
Well, at least the changes don't sound arbitrary, there was reason behind it. Hopefully, as time goes on, the makers can agree on some standard form factors, like bottom brackets, and axle O.L.D.s and other components
like they used to be. Which is of course as absurd and hypocritical as it sounds. Cat's out of the bag. Standards will go in the direction of Darwinistic market dominance.
