No shortage of remote dirt roads around here in AZ, but part of the problem is the time of year.....usually in the more mild winter months, the sand can be insane depending on trail/road/location and not very bike-friendly. During monsoon season when rain is more common (mid June through mid Sept), it's like an oven unless you start at 4:30 a.m (then it's usually only in the 80's). The other problem is being remote - hard to find water/nutrition in the middle of nowhere.
