This is unfortunately not news, Alibaba and his 40 thieves is well known for selling fakes and knockoffs, they do it for all sorts of different companies products. There are probably legit companies who are selling products of their own design on that platform but if it is a brand that you would know well outside of that site they probably aren't selling through there and it should be avoided.
