Bicycle Quarterly has performed one of select few who have performed "blind"* tests, that I've been able to find. They had Jeff Lyon build two identical frames to test with three different riders. Two riders could tell the difference, one couldn't.

*It's not a blind test if the subject knows what they're testing.
