I'm not sure why you've tried to take (and die) on this particular hill, but you are on shaky ground and taking live fire from all sides. I didn't agree with anything the o.p. (or you) imply. ZERO* is ZERO*. There is ZERO* difference in the overall size of the typical 700C x 23 - 28 and the typical 650B x 40 -47 wheel. Often the only option on a particular size frame is a 700C OR 650B wheel. The standover height of the finished bicycles can be within 1/4" of each other. My observation was that 26" was sufficiently smaller than 700C (or 650B) to make a difference in the standover height (or toe clip overlap) of a finished bike but bike manufacturers treat 26" as only fit for MTB or Cargo bike equipment. EDIT: There would be a difference between a 29" wheel (700C x 40++) and a 'normal' 650B wheel but that isn't how the industry uses 29". Unknown is whether 650B x 50++ to complicate the credibility of a carefully crafted forum rant.
*deliberate overstatement to make a point
