I wouldn’t convert it. It would cost you a lot and wouldn’t benefit your ride in any quantifiable way. Isn’t a Rohloff between $650 and $1100? Plus the price of spokes and a new wheel build.

You only need a new derailleur hanger ($30), a new rear derailleur ($100), a few spokes ($2 each) and new cable and housing since you’re doing it ($10-30).

Your options are to spend another $75-$100 to let the bike shop put it together for you or spend an hour or two reading and watching videos of how to do it yourself.

With a properly adjusted derailleur and a straight hanger, this won’t happen again. It’s got nothing to do with the suspension.
