If it is still present, give us the serial number from the plate riveted to the bottom bracket. Peugeot serial numbers are no always consistent, presumably because of new old stock being used in a later year, but 1970s Peugeots should have 7-digit serial numbers (6 digits or 1960s models), with the leading digit corresponding to the last digit of the model year, hence my 1970 frame with S/N starting w/ 0.
In post #7 above, the OP says the number on the plate is 2193161. So 1972?
