Tufo's are repairable. I am in the process of repairing my tufo that I flatted on. Its not going to be as easy as a regular tubular but its possible.
Take a sharp razor and cut down the center. Pull out the tube and patch. Then take a really sharp needle and sew back up, making new holes in the casing.
I'm not sure I would go to the trouble. If the seam is under the basetape and I can get
to it fine, if not its not worth it to me. I know Tire Alert in Fla (repair tubulars) won't touch
a Tufo tire.
