you can do !
ensure you have the proper gearing
if you have a double - compact crank with a 34t small ring is good - but something like a GRX crank (or similar) with a 30 or 31t small ring would be better … pair with a cassette with 34 or 36t cog … could also go to a cassette with 40t - but might need to switch RD and/or RD hanger extension
should be ok if you have a triple … (although there are some triples that do not provide a low gear - drives me crazy) …
1x can also work with the appropriate chainring and cassette
