I actually post/re-post a lot of political things on my FB. Regarding me - my family is large, Mexican, Catholic, and liberal on both sides. This apple didn't fall far from the tree.

I have many FB friends on both sides of the political aisle, which is how it should be IMO. Too many people live in echo chambers. I get a lot of likes from my left-leaning, but a lot of replies from the right-leaning folks. Prob bc they know I'm going to reply in a civilized way and not resort to name-calling or personal attack. I do my best to avoid hyperbole (on both sides) and will readily admit when I don't know something - and moreover, when a specific issue or question makes me want to learn more about some nuance or another
