I wear Gold Toe socks made of 85% wool and 15% nylon (I think). These days, I wash them in the machine and hang dry. I used to dry them in the dryer, and that seemed to work well, too. I'm working on the theory that hang drying will help them last, but I have not tested it.
Gold Toe! My dad swore by them and when was working at an ad agency and had to play dress up, I wore them too.
