I learned a couple years ago that buying cheap bibs is a false economy. I used to think all bibs got increasingly uncomfortable after a couple hours, but it turns out you can get ones that are comfy for as long as my legs can keep turning. It also helps that I bought them on sale.
My last shorts purchase was 4x LG shorts marked down from $60 to $40 apiece. The batch before that was LG also, which worked great for me, the new ones have a cute little pocket though
I still have a small collection of Performance shorts that are worn enough to be relegated to liner purposes only.
