In search of a lower gear. Have the SRAM AXS 46/33 front double, but would like to use the 43/30. Of course it is in a wide version, which would require a 43/30 wide crankset or wide replacement chainrings and a wide front derailleur. Looking at both the regular and wide derailleurs, it appears that the wide derailleur sticks out a only a few millimeter further than the normal. Pregnant idea: Grind off the rivets attaching the derailleur mount to the frame and insert an appropriate shime to move that mount outward and use the regular derailleur. Thoughts?
