I realize this reply is to an older thread but I may have a COLNAGO bicycle frame that is somewhat related to the "Super Sprint" or possibly "Super '91" types of frame. Below are the details, later I'll try to supply photos.

Greetings everyone and this is my first post!

I am hoping someone is able to tell me how to most accurately confirm the year of manufacture of my nice Red COLNAGO road bicycle frame. So far, I have never been able to find any Colnago catalog, including for 1988, that included this exact frame construction as a "Super Sprint" though the COLUMBUS "SL-CROMOR" tube decal seems to indicate my frame is in the same general classification of that model. Both of the original decals (Down tube and Seat Tube) on the frame have the "World" emblem before the letter "C" of Colnago and the Black Colnago "Ace Of Clubs" emblem is centered in the letter "C" of Colnago, not at the right end of the name Colnago as depicted on I believe, "Super '91" or other frames. The Head tube decal is also original. The reason I suspect the MY1988 is that I have found most of what I consider the "unusual features" (Marked with an * below) of my frame in the 1988 COLNAGO catalog and the Rear Brake cable routed through the Top tube in the same fashion as my tube in a 1984 Japanese language COLNAGO catalog.

My frame also has the following details:
  1. * Chrome Head tube lugs only with the little 'tear drop' cut-outs in the sides of both lugs.
  2. * Rear Brake cable routed through the Top tube, Front entry at the bottom the T/T and Rear exit at the Top of the T/T.
  3. * Both the original Down tube and Seat Tube decals on the frame have the "World" emblem before the letter "C" of COLNAGO and the Black Colnago "Ace Of Clubs" emblem is centered in the letter "C" of the name COLNAGO.
  4. Full Chrome swept front fork.
  5. Columbus-Colnago "SL-CROMOR" tubing decal at the top of the Seat tube, White lettering for "Columbus" (top of decal) and "Colnago" (bottom of decal).
  6. Chrome Rear "Horizontal type" frame ends stamped "COLNAGO".
  7. Chrome Front fork ends stamped "COLNAGO".
  8. * "Plastic" Derailleur cable guide fastened to the underside of the "Full" (Not cut into at all) and Not stamped in any way Bottom Bracket with a single bolt.
  9. * Tapered, Round Seat Stay tube "ends" (at the tops of each stay) NOT Crimped, Fluted OR embossed OR stamped in any way..
  10. * Two pairs of Bidon cage bosses, one pair on the Down tube and the other pair on the lower Seat tube.
  11. The Rear Derailleur cable stop is located UNDER the Chrome Drive side Chain stay.
  12. My frame has the "Spool" shaped Lower Rear stay "Bridge".'
  13. The Drives Side Chain stay is chrome plated
  14. Black outlined White lettered "COLNAGO" letters on the Down tube and Seat tube decals.
Cheers!
