Now, I can't have the bar that low, so I want a tall head tube. I don't want an obscene stack of spacers or some contraption up there, so a 230mm head tube works. Some frames with that much head tube also have long top tubes. I would probably benefit from a custom frame.

genejockey and I are both talking about vintage road frames (IIRC the 56 he couldn’t get to fit was a Schwinn Circuit). I’m a solid size 58 in modern road or gravel but really need a 60cm or 61cm vintage frame. The problem I run in to is that vintage frames tend to get too long in the TT. I’m 6’2” as well but mostly leg.
Non RC Addict I could probably do a 56 since they’re so tall in the front end.
i haven’t really studied frame geometry enough to know what all the differences would be, but I’ve always preferred the look of a smaller frame with a longer stem and maybe a few spacers (not a lot!) to a bigger frame. maybe I’m missing out!
