I took my first "real" ride on my fatbike today. It is a single speed, not-very-expensive version.
Anyway, we're in the midst of a cold snap/snow snowy period and I took it to the paved trails in the park. There's a 1-2 inch cover of recent snow everywhere.
Prior to this I've only had it on the roads in the subdivision.
The dang thing is fun but it is a workout.
It's not a hill climber. Not even a slope. Wish it had more than one gear.
But I was able to cruise over frozen ground.
It should be fine for goofing around on the east end of the Katy Trail. I don't do long distances, usually.
Neat little toy.
Unfortunately, single speeds are not meant for anything more than smooth, flat surfaces
