thanks for the suggestions.after lots of thought I came up with this tool that worked on the Ofmega pedal.an 11mm 1/4" drive in a 15mm deepwell socket.would have been better to use a 15mm lawn mower spark plug tool but the curved jaw vise grips never slipped or mar the socket.snug as a bug.
