it should be mentioned that the Axle Cones on a solid axle will NOT work on QR axles... a Complete axle set with properly threaded cones and jam nuts is required, not just the axles and quick releases.
Also, you can't just "cut down an axle and quick release to fit" since the axle spacers on the rear axle will no longer be the correct length... and, depending on the front hub, the front axle might also not be the correct bearing seat depth as the hub the QR axle set was designed for.



and then... the Over Locknut Distance, O.L.D., raises it's ugly head...

not all hubs are created equally.

just carry a 15mm or adjustable wrench on your bike.
"Quick Releases" aren't any "Quicker"
