I guess we ought to have some sympathy for the manufacturers, who are trying to make money. Maintaining the tooling, machinery, and even the warehouse space to make stuff is expensive, and capital is a finite resource. They'll only keep making legacy stuff if it's hitting acceptable profit/volume numbers.
Well yeah, they are for profit companies. No need to have sympathy...they are doing what they exist to do. Maybe just dont be angry with them for not acting like a non-profit cooperative.
