Learned a valuable lesson: research components before buying! My trusty touring bike has a Shimano Tourney drivetrain, which has been surprisingly reliable for thousands of miles. However, with a challenging mountain tour planned, I need to lower my gear ratio.

The riveted chainrings are a roadblock. I'm at 25 gear inches and need to get below 20 for those steep, loaded climbs.
