I realize the thread has drifted a bit, but in answer to the original question I use one of these Rubbermaid sheds for bike (and miscellaneous) storage in the back yard. Though I'm using some of it for other things right now, it'll easily hold three bikes and seems pretty weather proof (through winters aren't particularly harsh where I live).
