Longer Tri Shorts

Does anyone else hate the way tri shorts fit?

I've got a pair of DS and Titan tri shorts. Both of them have 5 or 6 in. inseams, which I guess is the fashion. I hate them both because the elastic grippers grab right across the big part of the hamstring and I spend the entire run worrying about whether it's going to cause a cramp. (My favorite shorts were a cheap pair of Cannondale bike shorts with a thin synthetic chamois, but I finally wore them out and they don't seem to make them anymore).

The Pearl Izumi Kawaihae Tri Race Short (http://kozy.com/itemdetails.cfm?ID=5289) has a 9in inseam and I'm thinking of buying a pair even though I've never seen them for less than $74 (!).

Any other suggestions for tri shorts that fit like traditional cycling shorts?
