Which leads to a bit of a question - if you were to choose between a Pinion and a Rohloff would you choose pinion? Or would it matter what the ride would be? For now my rides will be mostly rail trails and around my hilly-ish area in MD, but I will do Ragbrai this summer and after that more rides further out on all sorts of terrain (never mountain biking technical routes). And I would be probably mostly solo as a 55 year old female.
