You mean hex socket head? The recessed kind?
Both my Surly and Bianchi have thru-axles with a closed ended wrench like lever that's attached with an M6 screw. Under the lever there's a 12mm hex head (the non recessed version)
Honestly the one thing I dislike with hex is the confusing two types of heads, ie. the recessed hexagonal hole and the actual hexagon head. Both are called hex.
