CO II was my very first bike tour. I took to it like a retriever to tennis balls. CO II’s route was amazing too. Portland-Sandy-Kaneeta-Bend-LaPine(?) over Crater Lake to Klamath Falls, ending in Ashland. What a ride!
I did CO II, III, IX, and X.
I did my first of 4 in 2002. We rode from the ID border all the way to the coast at Florence in 6 days, with a day off in Sisters before crossing McKenzie Pass. (There was an optional out and back ride that day, which I did not do.) I did the long route on Day 3, which was 117 miles. The day to Sisters was 100 miles for everyone. I ended up averaging 91 miles/day for the entire ride. It was brutal, but so much fun. They never did that route again. It was interesting to see how crabby people had gotten during the last 2 days. People were really tired.
Climbing on Day 2 in 2002.
Crater Lake in 2012.
