What to do with downtube cable bosses

Suppose you have a road frame converted to fixed gear. You have taken off all the unnecesary derailleurs and cables but you still have the cable bosses on the sides of the downtube. They look kind of silly now, just stuck on there with no cables running through them.

You could take them off and grind off the attachment points, but you'd have to repaint and you'd never be able to rebuild that frame as a geared bike again. Which you'd like to leave open as an option.

So what can you do with them?
