When you add hose, fittings, and a decent inflator with a gauge, you're getting closer to $200 (or more, depending on the inflator). Personally, a compressor setup is my choice (2 gal "quiet" compressor plus Park Tool inflator), but there was a time where that was money I didn't want to spend. An Airshot worked for me most of the time, but there were some MTB tires that I just couldn't get to seat, and had to go to a LBS for help.
