I want to convert from drop bar to flat bar on my Salsa Fargo. It’s Sram Apex 1x. TRP Spyre C brakes. Shimano BL4700 levers. I have the correct parts as the bike has been in both configurations. LBS did it previously.

I want to try this on my own. I have questions, thanks in advance for your help.

With the levers:
- I want to know how to change the mode position and if it should be on ‘R’. I can’t tell if it’s on R but I haven’t touched since LBS did this previously (I just removed the brake levers a while ago).
- I don’t know how to install the mtb brake cable into the cable hook. I can fit it in there but how to keep it in there, securely
