Okay, so we think the same thing is wrong. Mostly because it's the main reason these brakes don't work well. To me saying that OP needs to adjust his brakes includes getting the fixed pad positioned correctly again. I just trusted them to get the caliper straight if they were worried about the pads being centered. I don't think anyone would say they centered the pads if they got the calipers on crooked.
Getting the caliper straight is the hardest part.
