Agreed. The universal pancake 6gal/150psi should be considered a minimum. Anything lesser would be a waste of time. Bigger is definitely better.
A 2gal "quiet" compressor has served my needs just fine. I had the harbor Freight brand, previously. I'm now using a Husky (Home Depot brand). Both were around $150, plus accessories.
