If I was doing mineral spirits I would use an old cycling bottle that doesn't leak and just put it through some fine mesh (like an old strainer).
Just pour it into a container and let the particulate matter settle to the bottom. Decant the clean spirits off the top for the next job. Works fine; I've been doing it that way for years.
