Eat a good amount of food, drink a good amount of water, and take a good amount of naps.

I try to eat fruits and fresh veggies, for instance, apples and raw carrots, and try to keep it natural, rather than medicinal. I haven't reached that stage and that age yet.

However, just the other night, I was sitting watching TV, and got a slight cramp in my foot that wouldn't go away, though it wasn't bad. My wife said to eat a banana. I did, believing it would be too little to late. However the cramp went away. And when she ask me about it a little later, I had to admit that.

But perhaps it was just me getting up and walking into the kitchen that provided the relief or perhaps the cramp's time had come and gone on it's own.
Yes, to banana. I have seen athletes, especially tennis players, eating bananas during the changeover.
