That is one of the most sanitary neon Treks I've seen in years. The paint didn't like the sun. At all. I've seen more than one where you can tell which side of the bike faced out from the balcony. And the clear coat on the carbon tubes would get milky as well.
That said, the Treks were probably the most reliable bonded frames ever made. Carbon or aluminum, I've never heard of a joint failure on a bonded Trek. And I worked for a Trek shop in the mid 2000s... we saw a lot of them.
