I've also considered some of the slightly more performance-oriented gravel tires. With gumwalls, they wouldn't perhaps look too out of place. One such is the WTB Byway.

I had a pair of WTB Horizon slicks that I regretfully sold because they wouldn't fit the bike I had then. I have GK semislicks in 38 mm width but they seem to easily lose traction on loose gravel. That's why I'm looking for tires with a more pronounced tread.




Conti Terra Speed will be one of the best choices in this category. 650b x 35 ; 650b x 40. Available in cream wall. They can run a tad small installed - 35 is often around 33 mm installed and 40 is around 38 mm installed.

Not a budget friendly tire - but can often find at a decent price. Lordgun currently has them marked down 41% - around $37 per tire (USD):
