IMO the chainstays are too short for the medium to larger sizes. Short chainstays bias the weight over the rear wheel. On descents and on the flats it's fine, maybe even preferred. But on climbs, especially steep climbs, more of your weight shifts to the rear wheel leaving your front wheel less planted to the ground. That light front end makes steering more responsive to your inputs.
Adding weight to the front will help.
I think that I am leaning towards that conclusion as well. For those interested in the geometry I'll attach the print. FYI, the chain stays were lengthened in case I ever decide to add racks for touring.
