Amtrak, some stations handle luggage and some do not. Assuming you do not have a folding bike that means you need a station that handles luggage to take your bike, best to make a reservation for your bike too. The number of bike racks in the luggage car can be limited.

And the schedule can be quite inconvenient, I think on my trip back home from Buffalo, I got on the train (westbound) after midnight. If you do Amtrak, perhaps the first thing to decide is which direction you want to ride on the train, depending on time of day you get on and off the train.

My second bike tour years ago involved Amtrak, two of us. We started the trip on Amtrak, then we rode our bikes back to where the vehicle was parked, that meant that our schedule was a bit open ended so we did not have to worry about schedule while riding our bikes.
