I cannot argue but I’m glad I did it. I was born n raised in Schenectady so I’m into NYS history. I really enjoyed living some of that history, seeing the geography, traveling in those woods. Like the C&O and Schuylkill Navigation, following those mule tracks along the silent banks of a river. And I “checked that box” which was an adventure. Like riding the Northern Rail Trail in NH, glad I had the adventure but will not likely do it again. I may ride the GAP again. Don’t know.
As for camping, I still like it. I’ve even returned to backpacking - did two overnight walks on the AT last year. Also interesting that I cycled right past
Andrew R Stewart place on my EC ride. Even stopped at REI for inner tubes, cool water and a few watts. Would have enjoyed sharing a pot of coffee. C’est la vie.
