I agree! Friday, I rode 4 miles to the NYC Department of Education headquarters to find out why my application was stuck for weeks in the background check stage. Apparently there is a several-month backlog, but I hope to move it along somehow. Well, I got there, and walk-in hours are only certain hours of the week. Ah well. I'm going back Monday morning. But hey, I got a few miles in. Bureaucracy is one of my big irritations, but now I have to deal with a lot more than ever, and I'm growing a sense of humor about it.
