Consumer reports give Subaru top marks for the majority of their cars. The Forester or Legacy both available in AWD and have room to sleep. Bang for the buck, they are/were excellent values with very good reliability and resale. We have had 3 Legacy Outbacks and they were all very good cars with nary an issue.
Edit: They may still offer some with high output motors as well. Doubt the WRX STi has the room you need, but might be worth a look see.
