My neck has been giving my troubles lately, no matter how careful I am. Yesterday night, it was just mildly sore from a long ride Saturday, then I made the mistake of watching a couple YouTube videos with my head turned just a bit off-center and boom, I was in a ton of pain last night and today. I took the Forte for the work commute today and extended the stem all the way up. Riding leaned forward looking up seems to really aggravate it lately.
It was sunny outside and with not much wind, (8 mph) so I went for it despite the chill. (33°F)
Below is a captioned photo tour of this mini event.
By the front door of the Southport Beach House. This building is in the US Register of Historic Places.
Here is the beach house as seen from the lake side.
Here is the view of Lake Michigan, as seen from the lake side of the beach house. I was lucky enough to capture two sea chickens in this shot: one airborne and one on the beach.
History of the beach house. I'm not a fan of how the photo of the lake side of it has the windows all boarded-up; that's pretty ghetto.
A bit further south is the Kenosha Dunes. Here it is, in all its glory. Behind this rocky beach (out of frame to the right) are some miniature sand dunes.
Along the path to the dunes, the boulders that make up the breakfront are all graffiti'd-up. Probably by local teens; I can't see thugs bothering to come out here.

Somehow, I'm fine with a 10-11 mph pace on this bike; it doesn't bother me at all that it is slow, because it FEELS faster.

I'm still loving the bike. It's got about 50 miles on it now and I think it will get a lot more this season, with my neck problems looming.
