Not sure which factory this was made in.
Pretty nice. One scrape on the top tube decal.
IMO, much better looking than the popular hot pink version.
The seat has to be changed out. Pedals too.

Albrecht bike shop in Sioux City Iowa. I remember one of the Albrechts from my racing days. He got a pretty bad head injury that stifled his racing career.

Longtime Albrecht Cycle Shop owner Bud Albrecht dies at 100

SIOUX CITY — Otto Clayton "Bud" Albrecht, the longtime stalwart of the Albrecht Cycle Shop in Sioux City, died Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2024 at the age of 100.

Born May 22, 1924, in Sioux City to Otto D. and Sarah (Davis) Albrecht, Albrecht graduated from Central High School in 1942. After stints with the Curtis Wright Aircraft Company and the Air Corps (where he served in the Pacific Theatre of World War II), he came back to Sioux City and worked with his father at Albrecht Cycle Shop which was opened in 1924. The store initially began selling and servicing Harley Davidson motorcycles and only started offering bicycles in the 1930s. Cushman scooters were also sold for a time.

"I came home one day, and I was working here the next day," Albrecht told The Journal in 2015.

Albrecht married Marian Schmidt in July 1948 and they had two children, Douglas and Cindy. Douglas took on a managerial position at his dad's store after attending school at Briar Cliff University and Iowa State University.
Over time, Albrecht ceded various responsibilities to other staff members of the shop but continued to clock in six days a week up until the time he retired in 2016 after selling the shop at the age of 92. When RAGBRAI launched from Sioux City in 2015, Albrecht could be seen at the shop navigating through wheels, rims and frames hanging all throughout the shop.

Albrecht once said to The Journal that when certain longtime customers would come into the store they'd give Albrecht a quizzical look and say "You're still here?"

A funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, September 10, 2024, at Christy-Smith Funeral Homes, Morningside Chapel, 1801 Morningside Ave., with visitation one hour prior.
