To make the original backers pay additional money for their bikes after all of these years is wrong. The owner used the initial seed money to get the business off the ground in China. Also, I'm still not convinced of the Helix's ergonomics, how the parts fit and work together. At least the Brompton T-Line is tried and true at this point, and I've ridden it. It's crazy, I still consider the Helix in the prototype stage at this moment. Not enough are being made.
From everything I've read, the Helix was designed and is built in Canada, I think Toronto, I think I read someone picked theirs up there. No?
I'd say definitely beyond prototype stage, but (to their credit) they have incorporated improvements as they are perfected.
