The Sunlite pumps are indeed steel (both the outer housing and the pump rod). I have bought two of them for vintage English three speed bikes. I have not used them yet to pump up a tire so I cannot speak for their efficiency. They are however, under $15.00 and there is not much cheaper than that.

I looked for that. It doesn't fit the frame without pegs, right? And it needs a hose?
