Not what I was aiming for, but I loved it. A former student of mine just sent me a text (through his mother) thanking me for the extra attention I gave him. It's been 10 months since I saw those kids.
My mom chose 3rd and 4th grades. She said they're old enough to be interesting and fun, but by 5th grade they're already starting to act like know-it-alls and were big enough to hurt her even by accident.
When my daughter was that age, she told me many times: "Enjoy this time. This is a good age." Stanzi had been good ever since about age 4, so I didn't know what she was talking about. Now, she's 13 and can be a real PITA. Definitely a know-it-all.
