Once again, bicycle specific facilities reinforce the notion that cyclists don't belong on the road, and certainly not where they're in the way of cars.

There is this downside to every bicycle-specific facility. That's not to say that that downside is necessarily enough to oppose all such facilities, but it is also something that should be considered, and weighed, along with all the other disadvantages of segregated cycling facilities, against any potential benefits, whenever any facility is being supported.
