Even after admitting that present conditions for safety are much improved over 8 years ago, the o.p. is still unsure. Life's too short already and constant anxiety is proven to have negative impacts on longevity.
Reached the same conclusion long ago about this poster(s)' "situation." I think there were several posts years ago (that have been deleted) that also pointed out what appears to be the nature of the poster(s)'s "barrier" to cycle commuting.
If it has not been addressed in eight years, even with improved financial and much improved safety conditions, it is unlikely that repeating the same helpful advice about bicycle commuting the OP(s) already was given by numerous posters years ago will overcome his "barrier."
